Question

Boating forcast

Answer

Pensacola boating forecast — Friday, August 7, 2026, as of 7:35 AM CDT

Best short answer: decent boating conditions, but keep an eye on thunderstorms.

  • Pensacola Bay / protected waters: light chop to smooth at times
  • Nearshore Gulf: seas around 2 ft
  • Wind: generally E 5–10 knots, possibly a little higher early afternoon
  • Storm risk: scattered showers/thunderstorms possible — winds and waves can jump fast near storms
  • Saturday: similar — E 5–10 knots, seas around 2 ft, storm chances around

Local note: a member reported this morning that the water is very blue at Sand Island, but that’s a first-hand observation, not an official forecast.

My call: Good for a bay/Sand Island run if you watch radar and have a quick exit plan. I’d be more cautious going offshore because of the thunderstorm risk.

👉 Are you boating in Pensacola Bay/Sand Island or heading offshore into the Gulf?
