• Recent local reports: PensacolaCoPilot members reported Sand Island was “crazy nice” Saturday afternoon and “nice tonight, light wind and cool” late Saturday night. These are first-hand member reports, not official marine observations.
• Bay boating takeaway: Sand Island should be more protected than the Gulf side, but expect some chop if the wind picks up. I’d still bring an anchor setup you trust, extra water, and watch afternoon storms/sea breeze.
