Question

Boat forecast

Answer

Pensacola boating forecast — Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, as of 10:48 AM CDT

Good boating day overall: light winds, smooth bay conditions, and low seas, with the main watch-out being spotty afternoon thunderstorms.

  • Pensacola Bay: NE wind around 5 kt, becoming south this afternoon. Waves 1 ft or less — smooth. Slight chance of showers/storms this afternoon.
  • Tonight: SW around 5 kt, becoming NE after midnight. Waves 1 ft or less.
  • Sunday: East around 5 kt, becoming SE. Light chop, with a better chance of afternoon storms.
  • Nearshore Gulf: local member/Pulse reports indicate light winds 5–10 kt, seas 1–2 ft, slight thunderstorm chance. A member also reported very blue water near Sand Island yesterday.

I’d go earlier rather than later today — morning to early afternoon looks best before pop-up storms build inland and drift toward the bay/Gulf.
