If you mean downtown specifically, the strongest newer-feeling dinner choice is Pearl & Horn, an oyster bar and chef-driven land-and-sea restaurant at 1504 W. Intendencia St., Pensacola, FL 32502 · (850) 332-5108. Think fresh Gulf seafood, prime cuts, cocktails, and wine—not a quick cheap meal. Hours listed: Sun–Thu 4:30–9 p.m.; Fri–Sat 4:30–10 p.m. Reserve for weekend dinner.

A few other recent additions worth knowing:

• Reservoir — A newer chef-driven, Southern-inspired lunch/dinner option. It’s the one I’d try if you want a contemporary menu rather than another classic Palafox standby.
• Baja Coastal Kitchen — 460 Pensacola Beach Blvd. This is new in 2026, taking over the former Laguna’s Beach Bar & Grill location, with bright island-style food such as Baja crab cakes and chili-lime shrimp bowls. Better for a beach-day meal than downtown dinner.
• Prime & Beyond Wagyu Steakhouse — 650 E. Nine Mile Rd. Newer upscale wagyu-focused steakhouse. Worth the drive only if steak is the whole mission; it is not downtown.
• First Watch — opening August 31, 2026 at 8860 Boesch Lane. It’s a new breakfast/brunch option, but not downtown and not open quite yet as of today, August 27.
