Good boating window overall: light winds, low seas, and mostly light chop, with the main caution being isolated showers/thunderstorms, especially late night/morning periods.

Pensacola Bay / Santa Rosa Sound

• Tonight: SE winds 5–10 kt, waves 1 ft or less, light chop. Slight chance of showers/storms after midnight.
• Friday, Aug. 7: E winds 5–10 kt, becoming SE later. Waves 1 ft or less, light chop. Slight storm chance in the morning.
• Saturday, Aug. 8: NE winds around 5 kt, becoming SE in the afternoon. Waves 1 ft or less — very manageable.
• Sunday, Aug. 9: Light E/SE winds around 5 kt, generally smooth to light chop.

Gulf waters — Destin to Pensacola out 20 NM

• Tonight: SE winds around 5 kt, seas 1 ft or less.
• Friday: E winds 5–10 kt, seas building to around 2 ft in the afternoon.
• Saturday: NE winds 5–10 kt, becoming SE; seas around 2 ft.
• Sunday: E/SE winds around 5 kt, seas 2 ft early, then 1 ft or less.

Local take: If you’re staying in the bay, sound, or around Sand Island, conditions look favorable. A PensacolaCoPilot member also reported today that the Sand Island slide is up and running, but treat that as a member observation, not an official notice. For Gulf runs, I’d go earlier in the day and keep an eye west/southwest for pop-up storms.
