If baseball feels like too much of a commitment: head to Pensacola Beach for an early dinner and a sunset walk. There’s live music at Bamboo Willie’s beginning at 8 PM, but the beach/sunset is the part I’d choose with 6- and 8-year-olds—not the late music set.

My pick: Wahoos game, especially if they like popcorn, cheering, and a “special night out.”
