Question
Boating forcast
Answer
For today, Friday, August 7, 2026, boating looks generally manageable but watch storms.
Pensacola / nearshore Gulf forecast as of 7:34 AM CDT:
- Winds: East 5–10 knots, possibly 10–15 knots early afternoon, then easing late
- Seas: Around 2 feet
- Weather: Chance of showers and thunderstorms until late afternoon
- Tonight: SE/E winds 5–10 knots, seas around 2 feet
- Saturday: East winds 5–10 knots, seas around 2 feet, slight morning storm chance

Bay note: Recent local reports have had light chop/calm-to-light conditions on Pensacola Bay, and a member reported yesterday that the Sand Island slide was up and running — but treat that as an unverified local observation.
My read: good small-boat weather if you stay weather-aware, but I’d avoid getting too far from cover during the late morning/afternoon thunderstorm window. As always, winds and seas can jump fast near storms.
👉 Are you heading to Pensacola Bay/Sand Island, offshore Gulf, or Perdido/Navarre side?
